1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser when you visit a website. Some are needed to make the site work. Others help measure visits, recognise a browser on a return visit or understand whether advertising has been effective. Similar technologies, including pixels and local browser storage, may perform related functions.

2. Who is responsible

We Are Awesome Ltd, trading as awesome., operates this website and decides how cookies and related information are used. Our company number is 10137762 and our registered contact address is Digital Media Centre, County Way, Barnsley, S70 2JW, UK.

3. Our cookie categories

Strictly necessary

What it means: Keeps the website secure and working, remembers your choices and supports forms. These technologies cannot be switched off through the banner.

Analytics

What it means: Helps us count visits and understand how people use the website. Optional Analytics scripts do not load unless you agree.

Recognition

What it means: Lets this site recognise your browser on a later visit, so a returning enquiry can be joined to what you read the first time. It may also connect page-reading time and scroll depth with your enquiry. Optional Recognition technology does not load unless you agree.

Advertising

What it means: Measures which adverts bring people to the website and may help show relevant adverts elsewhere. Optional Advertising scripts do not load unless you agree.

4. Awesome Insights cookies

Awesome Insights is delivered from analytics.wemakethingsawesome.com. Although this is a first-party subdomain of wemakethingsawesome.com, the service infrastructure is operated for the website by our analytics service provider. These cookies are therefore first-party in the browser, but the underlying service is delegated.

6. Google Analytics and enhanced demographics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to measure how visitors find and use the website. Google Analytics may collect page views, approximate location, device and browser details, traffic source, interactions, session activity and key events. It uses pseudonymous cookies and identifiers to distinguish browsers and sessions.

We also use Google Signals for enhanced, aggregated demographic and interest reporting. For eligible visitors who are signed in to Google and have Ads Personalisation enabled, Google may associate website activity with their Google account activity. This can produce aggregated reports showing age ranges, gender, interests and activity across devices. We do not receive the visitor’s Google account identity, and Google applies data thresholds intended to prevent individuals being identified in these reports.

Google Analytics cookies load only after Analytics consent. Google Signals, enhanced demographic reporting and advertising-related features require the relevant Analytics and Advertising permissions. Turning either category off prevents the associated tags from loading on future page views.

We intend to configure Google Analytics user-level and event-level retention to 14 months. Google applies a two-month retention period to age, gender and interest data regardless of the wider property setting. Standard aggregated reports may remain available for longer.

7. What happens before you choose

Before you accept optional categories, Awesome Insights may collect limited anonymous information about the page visited, referring domain, browser, operating system, device type and country. Your IP address is used to determine the country and then discarded; it is not stored. The full user-agent string is not stored. A daily rotating hash is used and cannot recognise you across different days.

Strictly necessary cookies may be used without consent because the site cannot operate securely without them. Analytics, Recognition and Advertising scripts remain blocked unless you enable the relevant category.

8. Recognition and form submissions

If you consent to Recognition, the site can recognise the same browser across visits and measure engagement such as pages read, reading time and scroll depth. If you later submit a form, those consented visits may be connected to your enquiry.

Submitting a form does not count as consent to Recognition. Your form is received whether Recognition is on or off. Recognition remains a separate choice controlled through the cookie settings.

9. Managing or withdrawing consent

You can accept all optional categories, reject them or manage each category separately when the cookie banner appears. You can change your mind at any time by selecting “Manage cookies” in the website footer.

When you switch a category off, scripts assigned to that category will no longer load on future page views. If you withdraw Recognition consent, recognition stops, the browser-to-person link is removed and later visits return to anonymous measurement. The record showing that consent was given and later withdrawn is kept as audit evidence.

You can also delete cookies using your browser settings. Doing so may remove your stored choices and cause the banner to appear again. Browser controls do not replace the choices available through our cookie settings.

You may also manage Ads Personalisation through your Google account or install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. These controls apply separately from the choices stored by this website.

10. International processing

Some optional providers, including Google, Meta and the OpenAI-related processing described in our Privacy Policy, may process information outside the UK. Our Privacy Policy explains the safeguards used for international transfers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the cookies, providers or purposes used on the website change. The latest version will always be published on this page with its updated date.
